Antonia Lloyd-Jones awarded with the Transatlantyk Prize
We’re happy to share the news that last Friday the great British translator of Polish literature into English Antonia Lloyd-Jones was awarded The Transatlantyk Prize. The prize is annually presented by the Polish Book Institute to a translator, publisher, critic or the animator of cultural life for promoting Polish literature abroad. Antonia Lloyd-Jones translated a wide array of literary texts, including works by such authors as Julian Tuwim, Paweł Huelle, Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, Zygmunt Miłoszewski, Jacek Hugo-Bader and Olga Tokarczuk. She received the prestigious Found in Translation Award twice – in 2009 and in 2012. Antonia also contributes to promoting Polish culture and literature through running mentoring programs and seminars for translators. Congratulations, Antonia!
